Stompin' Tom Connors, legendary singer/songwriter and performer, just released a new CD entitled, THE BATTLE OF STOMPIN' TOM in October 2008. This CD contains an unbelievable collection of songs all written and sung by Tom. There are 16 songs on the CD and every song is as good as the other. Stompin' Tom displays on this album his finest work and his voice is very mellow and his style of singing is as good as when he was in his younger years. When listening to this album, you can't wait until the next one, as each one has a story and he writes about Canada.

Most of the songs on the CD are all radio playable, and there is no excuse whatsoever that these wonderful written songs can be avoided by radio. Tom is at his very best, and has assembled a group of talented musicians, to accompany him on the CD. Tom's style on two of the novelty songs namely, Chicken Pooh and Bush of Buctouche are masterpieces, and one cannot hold back the tears of laughter-totally unbelievable.

Here are the 16 song titles:

The Olympic Song-The Hockey Song-My Hockey Mom-Bride & Groom Waltz-Lady Slipper-The Cowboy's Broken Ring-Rose of Silver Falls-My British Columbian Home- Kevin Barry-Birth of The Texas Gulf Mine-Chickee Room-Bush of Buctouche-Chase Me Charley-Ottawa Lures-Battle of Stompin' Tom-Take Me Back To Old Alberta.

The song, Ballad of Stompin' Tom is now released to radio, and fans should contact their favourite country station to request it to be heard. The song is based on the live hit stage show, that protrays Tom's life and was seen by thousands of people in Charlottetown, P.E.I. this past summer with rave reviews and standing ovations.

The songs The Olympic Song, The Hockey Song and My Hockey Mom are new 2008 versions and they even sound better than the originals. The CD jacket contains all words to each song which one can sing along with Tom.
