performed to a sold-out crowd at Toronto's premiere jazz club, The Montreal Bistro. In early August, she was featured on City TV. She has twice performed at the Top O'The Senator with top Canadian jazz pianst Mark Eisenman, and his trio Neil Swainson and John Sumner.
She has performed at The Rex Hotel, Lisa's Cafe, The Liberty Street Cafe, St. Lawrence Market Special Events, The Oakville Center For The Performing Arts, C'est What, The Horseshoe Tavern, Le Meridien Hotel (formerly The King Edward) and more. She has sung for music festivals, charity galas and provided back-up vocals for Canadian recording artists shows. She is also a popular entertainer at weddings and special events of all kinds. Karen's unique approach to jazz standards, bossas & ballads allows her to solo with single accompaniment or swing with a full jazz ensemble. Her colorful, emotional delivery and lighthearted banter makes for a lively show indeed! Karen draws inspiration from the jazz stylings of legends Ella Fitzgerald, Mel Torme, Sarah Vaughan, Anita O'Day and Annie Ross.
Her goal is to touch the audience's hearts and transport them back to a more leisurely and elegant space in time. Karen has a 3 song demo out since July 2001 for promo purposes and is a gem. She sings Satin Doll, Bye Bye Blackbird and Slow Boat to China and her pianist was Gary Breit.
