Releases New CD, entitled COMING HOME in Sept. 2008
Last Date Changed: Monday, September 2, 2013

Nonie Crete, singer, songwriter and recording artist is certainly making an impression in the world of music and song. Nonie grew up in Penetanguishene, Ontario, and is now living in Fergus, Ont. with her husband Peter and their two children, Andrew and Kathleen. She has made her presence known in the ASNonieCreteProfileShot.gif music scene since 1992. She sings Celtic/Folk/Country and Traditional songs. As a composer, she is a guitarist and harmonica player and her music appeals to audiences of all ages. Nonie has a gift of melodies as her songs are well-crafted and from the heart. Nonie already has a number of recordings to her credit, and audiences cant get enough of her music. Her first recording was a cassette called New Romance, in 1994. It was followed up by a CD entitled, Maybe Im A Loner, which received considerable air-play. This was followed by a cassette of live recordings entitled, Live at Leyanders and then a CD entitled, The Grand River, which featured Nonies trademark blend of Celtic-folk-country and blues.

Her latest release is entitled, Moonlight Dreams, a collection of Celtic originals with a traditional sound. On this fine CD, Nonie teamed up with Eugene ONeill with his words and Nonies music for eight of the eleven songs. Due to the overwhelmed CD response, Nonie went to Ireland in the summer of 2000 and earned an opening showcase at a concert featuring two of Irelands top popular groups, Clannad and Alton. The CD is so popular that it is played across Canada on various radio programs including CBC and in Ireland on BBC radio. Nonie Crete is now working on her 4th CD with Paul Mills who produced and played guitar on Stan Rogers recordings.

Since 1996, Nonie appeared at many popular festivals, showcases and workshops. Now she has teamed up with Eugene Rea of Murphy Family famous band. Eugene plays guitar and mandolin and Nonie plays guitar and harmonica. With Nonies strong and beautiful voice, they present a show that cant be missed. It has just been confirmed that Nonie brings her show to The Brogue Inn in Port Credit, Ontario in early May, an event we will all be awaiting for.
