Scott Woods is a 2 time Canadian Fiddle Champion and 1998 and 1999 Grand Master Champion.Scott was also Canadian Fiddle Entertainer of the Year in 1999. Scott was born in Fergus, Ontario. He began fiddling at the early age of four. He started competing in contests at eight and won the Al Cherny Trophyin Bobcaygeon for the youngest fiddler. He started drum lessons at eight and played in the Fergus Pipe Band when he was nine years old.


Scott�s family are very talented as well, and at one time all played in the same band along with his parents. His father, his grandfather and his great-grandfather all played the fiddle. Through the years, Scott won Shelburne Old Time Fiddle Contest, in 1993 & 1996, the Darthmouth, N.S. Contest in 1996 and won the Novelty Class in Shelburne 3 times. He performed at the International Country Music Festival in Holland.

Scott has produced several tapes and CD�s/Casettes through the years and is releasing a new one in 2010. Scott can fiddle and step dance at the same time. He also teaches fiddle to students at home in Fergus.

He has released a CD and Tape, Gospel Favourites featuring The Merv Woods Band, featuring Scott.Some of the many CD's & Tapes by Scott are: Fiddle Magic, Keeping Tradition,Old Time Christmas, Reflecting The Past, Stories and Songs, Dancing Fiddles, Stay Tuned and now in June 2010, Scott released a new CD entitled, By Request.

Scott�s performance schedule is quite impressive. Scott can turn somersaults and stepdance while playing the fiddle. For seven years Scott was the musical director and played the part of Don Messer in Memories of Don Messer's Jubilee which toured extensively in Canada. He plays at plowing matches, Church services, Old time dances, festivals, fairs and special appearances. Scott played occasionally with The Bay Boy�s Band in past years.

The Scott Woods Show has played to sell out audiences wherever it is booked. Scott combines his superb playing ability with a wonderful sense of humor, along with other talented musicians who join him on stage. This is truly a show to be enjoyed.
