Celebrating Over 50 Years In Music
Last Date Changed: Sunday, February 9, 2025

ASGoodBrothersprofileShotNickB.jpgAS50YearsinMusic.jpeg Meet The Good Brothers! Twins Bruce and Brian and Larry. They hail from suburban Toronto and have formed together as a group in the early 70s. Their first gig was at the legendary Toronto Club, The Riverboat on May 14, 1974. They played simple music, straight from the heart that combined country, bluegrass, folk and the occasional rock and roll song. The Goods raised the roof with their music which consisted of fiddle, banjo and autoharp, combined with their unique sibling harmonies and the rest is history.

Shortly after, they joined many famous artists on tour like, Gordon Lightfoot, Janis Joplin, John Hammond, Tracy Nelson, The Greatful Dead, just to name a few. They packed the famous EL Macombo in Toronto five nights a week, breaking bar records, attendance records and exhausting determined dancers. From 1976 to 1983, The Good Brothers won eight straight Juno Awards for Country Group of the year. They won several other Country music awards and even received a Gold Record in 1981, for the Album, The Good Brothers Live. They also earned a self-titled platinum album.

They headlined gigs at Massey Hall and The National Arts Center. They have traveled extensively across Canada, toured USA and Europe several times. They soon will be celebrating their 30th anniversary together as a group in 2004. To date The Goods, have not let up with their music, and have just released in 2002, a new outstanding Album entitled, One True Thing, with more than half of the songs written by Brian and Bruce and is reviewed on this website. Since release of their new Album, their tour schedule has been loaded with gigs including the Stan Rogers Festival in July, the famous Havelock Jamboree in August, with many performing dates across Canada, beginning with their CD Release Party at The famous Horseshoe Tavern in Toronto on April 26.

Next year 2003, The Good Brothers will be off on a European Tour, their 21st across the Atlantic and were hosts on the O.C.P.F.A. Country Music Awards on April 21. The Good Brothers are certainly on the move and after all those years, they remain popular with a long list of devoted fans and continue to be a major influence in the Country Music Industry.
