Pastelle was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer in June 2020,and was told by doctors that the cancer was too far gone and nothing could be done. But she kept her head high and tried different ways to keep alive and continued to perform until her death.
She spent thousands of dollars of her own for relief, and a fund raiser raised close to $50,000 in a few days to help her with expenses, but all in vain
.The Vishten group consisted of her twin sister Emmanuelle and Pascal Miousse from The Magdelan Islands.
The group formed 15 years ago and received multiple awards and nominations such as MusicPEI, The ECMA's, Canadian Folk Music and The Junos.
Vishten brought neo-traditional music inspired by Acadian, Celtic and Cajun sounds to USA, Australia and various parts of Europe.
Pastelle played accordion, sang, danced and taught piano.
Vishten released 6 albums throughtout the years including with their most album HORIZONS in 2018 and was nominated for awards in 2019.
The Band includes instruments such as fiddle, electric guitar, accordion, mandolin, whistle, jaw harp, precussion and bodran.
Pastelle will be missed by Emmanuelle and Pascal of the group as well as all their fans. She was so much love, creativity and wisdom and knowing herby all those who met her, they realized how bright, vibrant, gentle, generous and profound she was
She certainly will be missed by all
