In A Plane Crash at age 30

ASPatsyClinePromoPhotoNo2.jpgRemembering Country Music Artist PATSY CLINE who passed away on March 3, 1963 at age 30 as a result of a Plane Crash.

Other members in the crash were country music artist Hawkshaw Hawkins (Jean Shepard's husband) , music artist Cowboy Copas and Randy Hughs (Patsy's Manager & Plane pilot).

They were returning from a benefit show in Kansas City and the plane crashed just outside of Canden Tenn.

Patsy was married to Charlie Dick in 1957 and had 2 children Randy & Julie.

Patsy was considered one of the most influential vocalists of the 20th century. She was the first country music female artist to successfully cross over to pop music.

Patsy had several major hit songs during her 8 years recording career and had 2 No 1 hits.

In 1961 her single I FALL TO PIECES was her first No 1 hit followed by CRAZY which was a major hit.

From 1962-1963 she had more major hits: She's Got You - When I Get Through With You - So Wrong-Leavin' On Your Mind.

She had 3 studio albums:

1957-Patsy Cline

1961-Patsy Cline Showcase

1962-Sentimentally Yours

Patsy became a first female member of the Country Music Hall of Fame in 1973

In 2011 Patsy's childhood home was restored as a museum for visitors & fans.

A musical in 1988 was released-Always-Patsy Cline. She was portrayed in major motion pictures twice and several documentaries and stage shows were presented over the years.

Visitors and fans can visit The Patsy Cline Museum in Nashville as of 2017.
