Legend Country Singer Dallas Harms Passes Away

Dallas Harms, Canadian Country Music Legend has passed away on October 12, 2019 at age 84.

Dallas was a singer, songwriter, guitarist, record producer and artist of his own album jackets as well as others.He was born in Jansen, SK and moved to Hamilton, Ontario when he was 2 years old. As a songwriter, he wrote PAPER ROSIE, a Canadian Classic, made famous by Nashville's Gene Watson in 1975.

Here are some of many highlights of Gene's career:

* Inducted into the Canadian Country Music Hall of Fame in 1989

* Received the Lifetime Achievement Award in 2016

*On Sept 8/18 his written song, Paper Rosie was inducted into the Country Songwriters Hall of Fame

*He helped introduce Rompin' Ronnie Hawkins to the Hamilton Music scene

*Over the years he performed in Nashville, New Zealand, England and across Canada

*His charted debut song in 1972 entitled THE LOVING ARMS OF MY MUSIC peaked at #8 on RPM Charts

* Scored another 18 charted songs

* In 1975 he released his first of 5 albums

*The song Paper Rosie recorded by Gene Watson in 1975 sky rocketed to No 3 on Billboard and Gene recorded six more songs written by Dallas

* His written songs were sung by many country music artists incuding country music legend, Johnny Burke.

*Dallas holds record for the most consecutive wins (3) for songwriter of the year at CCMA Awards.

Dallas Harms, is truly a Canadian Country Music Legend and he will never be forgotten for his contribution to The Canadian Country Music.
