The nominations were for: Solo Recording, Song of The Year (Somebody Somewhere), Songwriter, Fans Choice and Folk Recording.
Amelia is 2010 Juno winner in the roots/traditional category for her album, Hunter, Hunter. She is also a playwright and actor as well as a musician. The National Post describes her music as a bit like Leonard Cohen, being channeled in a dusty saloon by Patsy Cline.
Her new album, They Promised You Mercy, contains 11 songs all written by Amelia and produced by Michael Philip Wojeweda.
Here are the song titles:
Somebody, Somewhere - Coming For You - I Am the Night
Never Say Goodbye - Time, Time - Song On The Radio
The Reverie - The Matador - Fables & Troubles
Strike The Band - You've Changed
The album is a poised, focused and consummate work that showcases Amelia's singular songwriting talent. The album raises the lyrical bar yet again with its unrivaled eloquence.
The album is a very beautiful listening-to album and should receive many awards in the future says Atlantic Seabreeze, a five star rated album out of five stars.
