CCMA 1988-89 Vista Rising Star, Joey Vautour (Joey Knight) passed away this past week-end, May 8/11, at the age of 56 in Frederction, N.B. Joey was born in Minto, N.B. and was one of the most friendly, charismatic entertainers that the music industry has to offer. When he was on stage, his audience is sure to be captivated and entertained. He is survived by his wife and 2 children.

He had a great love of country music and loved country gospel. In fact, he recently released his first Gospel album entitled BELIEVE. At CCMA in 1988/89 he was nominated for various awards.

In 1993 he was inducted into the NB Country Music Hall of Fame for his contribution as one of NB's most promising artists. In 2001, he was inducted into the Minto Wall of Fame.

He was known for his compassion and willingness to help those in need and donated his time to many benefits and charity concerts. His purpose for living was to make everyone happy.

Joy was buried in Frederction on May 11/11. May he rest in Peace.
