Burton, PEI Ceilidh's Season Ends on Sept 2, 2010
Special Great Island Ceilidh on Sept 25/10
By John Gavin, Friday, September 3, 2010

Burton, PEI Ceilidh's ended their summer season on Sept 2 on a high note. The St. Mark's Hall was ablaze with sounds from Western PEI's top fiddler, Kaleen Wedge, the champion stepdancers, The Arsenault Sisters from Wellington and new comer to St Mark's hall, piano player Cecile MacKinnon from Miscouche, PEI entertained the standing room only audience with music & dancing, something of which hasn't been seen in this part of the Island in a long time.

The Ceilidth's have been held all summer long, every Thursdsay from July 1 to September 1. Every Thursday different music artists and groups entertained the crowd with full houses, and displayed music and dance second to none on PEI. Many tourists joined the crowd every Thursday and many people returned every week to enjoy some of PEI's finest talents.

At show's end last night, it was announced that on Saturday, September 25 there would be one last Ceilidh, with details to be announced later this month. Many advanced tickets were already sold last evening at the Ceilidh for the last event.

Here are a few pictures from the Sept 1 Ceilidh:
