MIR Heads To Europe For German Tour – New Partnership With Sennheiser
A number of high profile outdoor radio-sponsored festivals are still being confirmed at press time, as well as other dates and pre-World Cup Soccer events. (Updates to follow)
MIR will also have access to their new record label's recording studio where they will be taking some time to work on pre-production for the group's next album between festival dates.
The tour also marks a new partnership between MIR and Sennheiser, the world leader in microphone and wireless technology. “We’ve had a great relationship with Sennheiser Canada for a while now”, says MIR drummer, Adam Dowling. “Their new Evolution microphones and monitors were perfect for us so we’ll be using them exclusively on the tour”.
In February, MIR signed a multi-CD deal with Silversonic Records, a division of the Phoenix Music Group, located in Germany. The first release on the new label is 7 Directions. The CD is a collection of songs combining tracks from the Canadian release of 7 Directions and the critically acclaimed CD, The Acoustic Record.
7 Directions will be released to European record stores on April 18th.
MIR front man, Asif Illyas, is already in Europe this week to complete an extensive promotional tour to support the launch of the first single and video, So Perfect. Illyas returns for the Juno Awards weekend in Halifax, NS.
