Through the last number of years, he and his band, Steeped In Tradition was a fixture at the Bow and Arrow on Yonge St, Toronto every Sunday afternoon, where people enjoyed listening and dancing to their music. Since the venue closed a few years ago, the band continued to perform Sundays at other venues in Toronto. Sandy regularly hosts traditional fiddle and stepdancing events at several pubs in the Toronto area and plays for a traditional Cape Breton Square Dance to keep the traditional square dances alive.

Sandy's sister, Mary originally from Inverness, Cape Breton plays piano and sings with the band.

Sandy's son Brian, is a multi-talented musician who plays acoustic and electric guitar and does vocals as well.

Sandy's youngest son Stephen, plays percussion and also plays fiddle and piano. He and his brother Brian also play in a Toronto based country-rock band called Full Steam Ahead.

Mickey Andrews formerly from New Waterford, Cape Breton is a legendary steel guitar player and spent most of his professional career playing steel guitar and dobro. Over the years he performed with many Canadian and Nashville artists at various venues.

Jeffrey Gosse from Ontario plays fiddle with Sandy and has entertained audiences in many places and is widely known amongst the Celtic fiddlers. He was one of the performers along with Sandy in the Celtic Production, Needfire in 1998.

Damian Walsh is a renowned singer and performer and sang with the band for a number of years.
