Mavericks Band Members Assaulted Hate Crimes
Told to Speak English Not Spanish
By John Gavin, Wednesday, October 7, 2020

Mavericks Band Members Assaulted: The Mavericks Band Member, Lorenzo Molina, trumpet player and his friend and fellow musician Orlando Morals were assaulted earlier this week at a public establishment (Tony's Eat & Drink in Franklin, Tenn.).

At the time they were in the bathroom and returned to their table with others discussing their new Spanish Album , en Espanol and a serious fight broke out when some patrons came to their table and told them to talk English not Spanish.

Two band members Lorenzo and Orlando got badly beaten and as result Lorenzo received a broken nose and other injuries as well injuries to Orlando.

They couldn't believe this terrible event could happen as October is Heritage Month and the band were to perform at the Hispanic Awards this week.

The band said, America is better than this and was not called for.

This was a hate crime at the highest level and this adds to the fuel of Hate Crimes in the United States. Totally unacceptable.
