Jan Howard Grand Ole Opry Star Dies at age 91
Became A Grand Ole Opry Member in 1971

ASJanHowardperformingattheGrandOleOpry.jpgSinger songwriter known as one of The Grand Ladies of The Grand Ole Opry has passed away at age 91 on March 28, 2020.

During her long career, she was a recording star, a hit writer, a member of The Johnny Cash troupe, Patsy Cline's demo singer, Bill Anderson's duet partner, Harlan Howard's wife and business co-owner, Tammy Wynette's confidant and Wynn Stewart's disc collaborator, as well as a matriarch of the Opry Cast.

Jan released 15 albums between 1960 and 1986 and placed 30 titles on the country music hit parade.

Jan was married 4 times one of which to Harland Howard in 1957, a famous country music songwriter, however this marriage ended in divorce. He wrote several of Jan's hit songs one of which her biggest hit, Evil O Your Mind in 1966.

Jan had 3 sons, Jimmy, Carter and David. Jimmy served in the Viet Nam war but was killed in a mine explosion, David committed suicide after returning from Viet Nam and Carter her surviving son is married to Pamela with 2 children, 2 grand children and 3 great grand children.
