Jean Shepard, Traditional Country Music Legend, celebrates her 82nd birthday and her 60th year as member of the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville on November 21, 2015.

Here is some highlites of Her Career:

Jean will be celebrating her induction and her birthday at the Grand Ole Opry on Nov 21, 2015 at both evening shows.

She is the longest running living member at the Grand Ole Opry, joining in 1955

Jean was inducted into the Grand Ole Opry Music Hall of Fame in 2011

She was born on Nov 21, 1933 in Oklahoma and raised in California

She was married to Hawkshaw Hawkins in 1960 but 3 years after marriage, he was killed in a plane crash along with the incredible Patsy Cline and Cowboy Copas. Jean was pregnant at the time and 1 month later Hawkshaw Jr. was born. She also had 2 other children

Jean later married country musician, Benny Birchfield, and still remain married

She had 45 hits on singles, (1953-78) and released 24 studio albums (1956-1981)

Her first smash song was, A DEAR JOHN LETTER in 1953 with Ferlin Husky. It was a first post-war record by a woman country artist to sell more than a million albums

Jean had many hits such as; A Satisfied Mind-Beautiful Lies-Many Happy Hangovers-Slippin Away-Second Fiddle To An Old Guitar(her signature hit) and countless others

Her long awaited autobiography entitled, Down Through The Years, after 15 years of writing will soon be released.
