Singer, banjo player and comedian Grandpa Jones, whose real name was Louis Marshall Jones,

died on this date Feb 19 in 1998 at the age of 84 from complications of two strokes he had

suffered a month earlier.

A Grand Ole Opry regular, he was also a regular on the TV show Hee Haw.
